    The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 is a law in India that gives citizens the right to access information from public authorities. The act’s goals are to: Promote transparency and accountability in the government, Empower citizens, Contain corruption, and Make democracy work for the people.
    Here are some other things to know about the RTI Act:
    The act requires public authorities to provide reasons for their administrative or quasi-judicial decisions to affected people.
    The Central Information Commission (CIC) and State Information Commissions are established by the act.
    The first RTI application was filed in Pune on October 12, 2005 by Shahid Raza.
    The Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) must provide the requested information or reject the request within 30 days of receiving it.
